Hope for the Postpartum Mom
I am so excited to share this YouVersion Bible Plan that I have spent months working on.
The YouVersion Plan went live on April 3, 2020 and it’s not lost on me the timing of when this plan was released into the world. On that exact day, 7 years ago, I was living in a psychiatric hospital suffering from postpartum psychosis. It was 12 days after my 4th child was born. Through the weeks and months following, I not only suffered from postpartum psychosis, but postpartum depression and anxiety as well. You name it, I suffered through it.
My healing journey consisted of a lot of medicine, time at the gym, doctor visits, reading the Bible, praying and more. Another important part of my healing journey was weekly counseling sessions. Every week, I walked into Jan’s office and processed what I was going through. She saw me manic. She saw me suicidal. She saw me anxious. She saw me depressed. She saw me at my best and my worst. And she helped me on my road to complete healing. And I am so honored that she plays a huge role in this Bible Plan. She provides some very helpful truths about postpartum illnesses from a clinical perspective along with even more important truths about what God’s word says to help us through our postpartum days. She provides such a unique angle to this plan and I am so grateful that we could write this together. Who knew she would walk with me through the darkest time in my life, and then 7 years later we are writing a plan to encourage other moms in their darkest time. Only God. •
If you are in the midst of a postpartum season or know someone who is, we would love if you would share this plan with them. We are praying that God uses it in a mighty way to help moms during their postpartum season. You can find the plan on the YouVersion Bible App when you search for “hope for the postpartum mom”.
